The annual Wild Boar Hunting Expo has changed it's name to the Lonestar Hunting and Working Dog Expo. The goal of the Expo is to provide a family friendly atmosphere and have speakers who will provide insightful presentations to further your hunting and dog handling abilities.  Bird dog, cattle dog, protection dog, and hog dog presentations will be available.  Check out www.lonestarexpo.com
Vendors from around the country come to show & sell anything and everything hog hunting related:  hunting gear, dog gear, feeders, taxidermists, hog dogs, traps, jewelry, apparel, and much, much more.  There is something for the entire family.

The Lone Star Bowhunters Association will be in attendance with tips and tactics for young and beginning archers.

In conjunction with the expo, Texas Dog Hunter's Association hold their annual "Hunt for the Hungry" contest.  Dog hunters from across the state bring in their best catches of the weekend in hopes of winning big money and prizes.  All the wild pork generated from the contest is donated to Hunter's Harvest which turns the meat into sausage and distributes it to the poor of Texas.  In 2009, over seventy  teams registered.  285 hogs were harvested producing 28,657 pounds of meat.

The next Expo is set for March 6 & 7, 2010.  Make plans early to be there!
